That was the goal when Calvary Children’s Home began searching for a Program & Office Assistant. They needed someone who could provide dependable administrative support while also embracing the ministry’s mission of caring for children who need a safe, loving, Christ-centered home.

The role required someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to serve behind the scenes while supporting a team that makes a lasting difference in the lives of children every day.

About Calvary Children’s Home

For decades, Calvary Children’s Home has provided a safe, loving, Christian environment for children who need long-term care because of circumstances beyond their control. Their ministry is built on the belief that every child deserves stability, meaningful relationships, and the opportunity to grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Beyond meeting practical needs, the team is deeply committed to helping each child experience the love of Christ while preparing them for a healthy and hope-filled future.

The Search Process

Throughout the search, MinistryHub partnered closely with Calvary Children’s Home to identify candidates whose experience matched the responsibilities of the role while also reflecting the ministry’s heart for serving children and families.

The search produced a strong pool of applicants who were genuinely passionate about supporting children and Christian ministry. Throughout every stage, Calvary’s leadership remained engaged, responsive, and thoughtful in reviewing candidates, making the process both efficient and collaborative.

Because of this, the process moved very smoothly. The position opened at the end of March 2026, and only one month later a successful hire had been identified!

Jennifer Donachie emerged as an outstanding fit for the Program & Office Assistant role because of her unique combination of administrative expertise, ministry experience, and heart for service.

With more than ten years of experience supporting administrative, financial, educational, and program-related functions, Jennifer brings the organization, attention to detail, and professionalism needed to help Calvary’s team operate effectively. Her background in church operations and education has equipped her to serve in environments where both excellence and compassion matter.

What made Jennifer especially meaningful for this role, however, was her desire to return to ministry-focused work. Her experience serving children, including students with special needs, combined with her authentic Christian faith and heart for supporting families, reflected the qualities Calvary was seeking.

More than simply matching a job description, Jennifer shared the ministry’s commitment to caring for children with excellence and pointing them toward hope in Christ. It became clear throughout the process that this was a partnership built on shared values as much as shared experience.
